Sandtex Trade Stabilising Solution Clear (Oil-Based)

Sandtex® Trade Stabilising Solution is a highly-penetrative, solvent-based stabiliser for use on most exterior masonry surfaces and exterior grade building boards. This colourless solution requires just one coat to stabilise chalking decorative surfaces and control suction on undecorated surfaces.

When Should I Use Stabilising Solution?

Stabilising solution should be used on chalky or powdery surfaces such as previously painted, weathered masonry surfaces prior to application of masonry paints. They can also be used on surfaces with slightly loose and flaking paint once the worst of it has been removed, as well as on very porous surfaces such as breeze block and concrete walls.

For sound, bare render surfaces a thinned coat (mist coat) of masonry paint is usually sufficient to seal the surface and stabiliser is not needed. Always follow the paint manufacturers instructions.
