Typically made from natural ingredients like beeswax or carnauba wax, wood waxes provide a slick surface film that reduces traction and reflects light, giving wood a richer appearance. It does not penetrate the wood but remains on it to prevent oxidation (loss of original colour), and protect from moisture and scratches. They come in a variety of colours to match the shade of the wood.
