MASONRY PAINTS
Masonry paint is a specialised type of paint designed to protect and improve the appearance of exterior surfaces like brick, stone, concrete, and rendered walls. It's formulated to withstand harsh weather conditions, including rain, frost, snow, and UV radiation. Different types are available depending on the specific needs of the surface being painted, the condition it's in, and the time of year it's being applied. They are generally breathable to some extent and resist cracking and peeling, ensuring a long lasting finish. Highly breathable silicate, masonry paints are also available for lime render and older properties. These allow water vapour to escape, helping to prevent mould and damp from occurring inside.
Stabilising Solution Explained
What is Stabilising Solution?
A stabilising solution is a liquid product used to prepare porous or chalky masonry surfaces before painting with masonry paints. They penetrate deep into the surface, binding loose particles and creating a solid base for the paint to adhere to. This prevents the paint from peeling or flaking prematurely and extends the life of the paint job.
When Should I Use Stabilising Solution?
Stabilising solution should be used on chalky or powdery surfaces such as previously painted, weathered masonry surfaces prior to application of masonry paints. They can also be used on surfaces with slightly loose and flaking paint once the worst of it has been removed, as well as on very porous surfaces such as breeze block and concrete walls.
For sound, bare render surfaces a thinned coat (mist coat) of masonry paint is usually sufficient to seal the surface and stabiliser is not needed. Always follow the paint manufacturers instructions.

Masonry Paints
Standard Masonry Paints
Standard masonry paints offer a modern, smooth finish and are ideal for most modern buildings and rendered walls. They are water-based and are easy to apply with fast drying times, and they provide up to 15 years protection against harsh weather conditions and temperature fluctuations. Tintable to virtually any colour.

Masonry Paints
Silicone Masonry Paints
Silicone masonry paints are specially designed for use on masonry surfaces like brick, concrete and rendered walls, including lime render and mineral surfaces. It's advanced silicone technology offers high water-repellency to stop moisture penetrating the masonry surface, and very high breathability to allow water vapour to escape, without damaging the paint surface. Also ideal for older, traditional properties that need to breath. Gives up to 20 years protection and tintable to most colours.

Masonry Paints
Flexible Masonry Paint (Anti-Crack)
Premium quality, smooth, elastomeric masonry paint which provides a professional finish with outstanding protection.
Flexible microporous protective coatings that will fill and bridge hair line cracks and flex with the building where movement causes cracking in conventional masonry paint.
Can also be applied to previously painted surfaces after suitable preparation.
